Important 2023 Tax Info

We just wanted to take a few minutes to remind you that you should be getting 1099 and other tax documents from both TD Ameritrade and Schwab. The conversion from TD Ameritrade to Schwab took place in Septameber so TD Ameritrade needs to document the account activity up to the conversion. Please do not file your taxes until you have verified that you have all your tax documents from both TD Ameritrade and Schwab. You can access your tax documents vis Orion's online portal @ www.portfoliologin.com .

DOW 20,000, now what?

Traders wore grins and commemorative hats Wednesday as the Dow Jones industrial average broke the 20,000 mark for the first time. The milestone reflects a growing economy. The private sector added 15.6 million jobs over the last 81 months; the Fed has begun increasing interest rates; and average wages grew 2.9 percent in December.

Still Time for Certain Tax Moves

Even as you look at a fresh 2017 calendar, you may still be able to make one or two strategic tax moves for 2016. But they must be made by the national filing deadline, which falls on Tuesday, April 17, this year.
